U.S. News and World Report Ranks SUNY Canton Among Best Regional Colleges

Best Colleges US News

SUNY Canton has once again earned a spot in the U.S. News and World Report’s annual “Best Colleges” publication.

The College is among the top 73 schools in the “Regional Colleges—North” division. Selection in the category is based on colleges that focus on undergraduate education but grant fewer than half their degrees in liberal art disciplines. The North division includes colleges specifically located in the Northeastern United States.

“SUNY Canton consistently strives to do the best for our students,” said SUNY Canton Acting President Joseph C. Hoffman. “Our wide-ranging degree offerings, combined with our exemplary student services programs, make our College an excellent and accessible choice for students looking for a hands-on, real-world education.”

Colleges are compared against their peer institutions on a variety of factors including graduation and retention rates, class size and selectivity. This is the third year in a row that SUNY Canton has been included in the top Regional Colleges—North division.

“As we continue to work with Governor Cuomo to position SUNY and New York to lead in affordability, access and quality, and President Obama puts these issues into focus nationally, we are proud to be recognized and ranked favorably by U.S. News and World Report,” said SUNY Chancellor Nancy L. Zimpher. “Congratulations to SUNY Canton and the many campuses representing SUNY on this list.”
