U.S. News & World Report Names SUNY Canton’s Online Programs Among Best in the Nation
SUNY Canton’s online bachelor’s degree programs have been ranked among the best in the country, according to U.S. News & World Report’s 2015 “Best Online Programs” list.
U.S. News placed the college at 58th, and the rankings were based on student engagement, faculty credentials and training, peer reputation and student services and technology.
“We are proud to be one of the leaders in online education in the State University of New York and nationally,” said SUNY Canton President Dr. Zvi Szafran. “U.S. News & World Report has recognized what so many of our students and graduates already know: that SUNY Canton is a great place to receive a quality online education.”
The college offers ten fully online baccalaureate programs in a number of disciplines, including finance, management, nursing and healthcare. Last year State University of New York Chancellor Nancy L. Zimpher announced that SUNY Canton was chosen to offer ten online degrees as part of its Open SUNY initiative, which aims to be the nation’s largest distance learning environment.
The U.S. News ranking is the latest in a string of recent awards for the college’s online programs. SR Education Group named SUNY Canton’s bachelor’s degrees in Legal Studies and Finance among the most affordable and accessible programs of their type, and the Emergency Management Degree Online Program Guide named the Emergency Management baccalaureate degree as one of the top 10 programs in the nation.
